Actor Refutes Anti-Vax Views Following Narrating Contentious Covid Documentary

The "Taken" star has lent his vocal talents to a feature-length documentary that casts doubt on the legitimacy of vaccines and lauds former health official Robert F Kennedy Jr.

The Documentary's Contentious Foundation

Called "Plague of Corruption," the project is based on a popular book written by a controversial scientist, who gained notoriety during the global outbreak for allegations that the virus was caused by a bad strain of the seasonal immunization.

The book's co-author, Kent Heckenlively, has penned books with conspiracy-prone figure Alex Jones. Heckenlively took to social media hailing Neeson's participation in the documentary.

An Unequivocal Denial

A spokesperson for the actor have provided a response firmly refuting implications that he subscribes to anti-vaccine views.

"Many understand that unethical practices might be present within the pharmaceutical industry, but that cannot be confused with rejection of vaccines," the statement states. "Liam is not, and is not, against vaccines. His long work with Unicef underscores his long-held support for worldwide vaccination initiatives."

The statement noted that the performer had no hand in the project's editorial content and that concerns about its assertions ought to go to the creators.

Key Themes Featured in the Film

As presented, the voiceover spoken by Neeson makes several provocative statements:

  • It suggests that pro-immunization voices have insisted on "unconditional submission" to government bodies.
  • It posits that "science has become dangerously politicized."
  • RFK Jr is interviewed stating, "The big problem with vaccines is that they are not adequately tested."
  • It also criticizes pandemic restrictions, arguing they caused psychological harm that led to the loss of thousands of lives.
  • Concerning Covid vaccines, it cites a perspective that they were "developed too quickly" and seen as "risky trials."

Past Controversy and Current Issues

The film includes a historical film about HIV drug testing on children, which was later the subject of a BBC apology by the network for unbalanced reporting.

Recently, RFK Jr directed the national health agency to revise its official position that there is no connection between vaccines and autism spectrum disorder. This supposed link is repeated in the documentary, despite a fresh analysis from the World Health Organisation reiterating no connection has been found.

An Earlier Statement of Support

Standing in contrast to the film's tone, Neeson has in the past expressed clear advocacy for vaccines in his position as a charity ambassador.

Previously, he described vaccines as "a remarkable human success story," stating that "The conversation about vaccines in lately has overlooked how much good they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest collective achievements in human history."

The documentary finishes with Neeson's script proclaiming, "This marks not the conclusion of our narrative. It is the start of a new chapter."
