In a unexpected crossover event that defies traditional forecasts, the game developer has announced an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.

Strange Questline Revealed

According to the authorized announcement, "A mysterious meeting pulls heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original quest, where hints of banned practices and terrifying metamorphoses echo through the shadows." The plot presents a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a hidden group.

The mission concentrates on "peculiar experiments and a fearsome adversary" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.

Iconic Settings and Transformations

The teaser features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The teaser concludes with a striking moment showing a character, presumably the hostage, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Items and Additional Features

Players who successfully complete the adventure will receive an unique katana alongside numerous objects hidden throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also features in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

• Mikasa costume for Naoe
• Special arms
• Survey Corps steed

Third Free Story Addition

This update also introduces the game's latest no-cost story addition, titled "The Enigma." This playful quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange distinctive techniques: Naoe reveals a performative version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-lethal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Enigma" also includes a new environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
