Emma Raducanu reached the third round in three Grand Slam tournaments Grand Slams in the current campaign. The British tennis star Emma Raducanu has pulled out of the last two tournaments of the year as a result of the illness that has affected her for the last week and a half. Raducanu, aged 22 was scheduled to compete in Tokyo and Hong Kong but has decided to fly home to regain her health ahead of launching her preparations for 2026. Her upcoming training are set to feature her coach Francisco Roig, as both individuals will keep partnering in 2026. She had her blood pressure taken during her first-round match with Ann Li in the Wuhan tournament and stopped playing when behind 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day. She again required medical attention at the recent Ningbo Open, where she fell in a three-set match to local wildcard Zhu Lin in round one. Raducanu was also moving with clear difficulty in the third set against Zhu owing to the lower back problem that has troubled her during parts of the season. These outcomes meant an encouraging season, in which the player advanced into the international top 30 after more than three years for the first time since 2022, concluded with three straight losses. She held three match points prior to falling to Pegula in round three in last month's Beijing event. She secured twenty-eight matches this year and advanced to the semis in Washington, but her most impressive week was at the Miami Open in March. As Britain's top player advanced to the quarters of a premier WTA event, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed during the tournament then falling in a three-set match to fourth-ranked Pegula. Her coach was Mark Petchey from Miami until Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role for the US Open. The original arrangement with Rafael Nadal's former coach was until the end of the season but the collaboration persists, with a training session scheduled late this year. She mentioned that the trial session with Roig post-Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as they aimed to maintain secrecy. She came very close to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at the first competition with Roig in Cincinnati during August. Roig was also with Raducanu in New York, where she made the third stage before being beaten by Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
