Indian cricket star Shreyas Iyer experienced a lacerated spleen and entered a Sydney hospital following an unfortunate tumble while taking a catch during the third one-day international versus Australia, according to team officials.

The 30-year-old injured himself on match day while fielding to remove Alex Carey, with the athlete holding his abdomen and showing discomfort after falling onto the Sydney Cricket Ground field.

Medical examinations showed a tearing wound to the abdominal organ. He is under medical care, in stable condition, and recovering well.
