The winger Had England’s top opening before halftime, his shot excellently kept out from the opposing goalkeeper. As a teammate staying deep, he had to offer an outlet down the right side although his balls from wide areas were inconsistent. Substituted late in the match. 6

The captain The decisive figure netting seventy-seventh and seventy-eighth finishes in an England shirt. The first a classic poacher’s finish and the second an excellent header after peeling away off his defender. Now 32, he’s only getting better and England stand a real opportunity next summer with him up top. 8/10

Eberechi Eze Found it tough to get into the game from the left. Was presented with a presentable chance following a pass by the midfielder yet the keeper denied him. Rashford made much more of an impact when substituted. 5/10
